How To Make The Best Of Your Dallas Apartment Spring Cleaning
May 7, 2021Spring cleaning times for an apartment in Dallas, Plano, Flower Mound, The Colony, Mesquite or anywhere, are like family reunions. We do them every year out of tradition but no two will ever be the same. One year, you may be spring cleaning for only one person and the next, you might be cleaning for one person and two fur children. All these changes in our lives affect our spring cleaning approaches. And while some changes make spring cleaning a lot easier, some make it a little bit more challenging. That doesn’t mean you have to flip your entire routine upside down though to make an efficient spring clean. You simply have to have the basics pat-down. To help, here are some tips you can use to strengthen your spring cleaning base.
Dallas Apartment Spring Cleaning
Tip #1: Take It Room By Room
When deep cleaning your entire Dallas apartment, you have to have a plan in hand. This way, you avoid having to go back and forth and simply wasting your time and energy. For that spring cleaning deep clean, the best way to go about it is room by room. This would allow you to give equal attention to each room of your home and make sure that you really are giving it a good deep clean. To help you keep organized, create a checklist for each room. This would also help you keep track of areas that need extra cleaning attention.
Tip #2: Always Start With The Clutter
Any deep cleaning should always start with the clutter. Getting it all out of the way before you start dusting, mopping, vacuuming, or sweeping would allow you to do those things in one full sweep instead of being distracted over and over again.
Even with decluttering though, there is a system that can help make things a little easier. The first steps to that are to identify your problem areas and the reason for the clutter. Once you have that, you can come up with a solution that will help keep clutter off those areas for a good amount of time.
Another tip to deal with your clutter is to separate them into four categories: trash, store, give away, or put away. Once you finish sorting them out though, move the clutter out as soon as possible and send them to their designated places to give you fewer chances of bringing them back into your rooms.
Tip #3: Add In Seasonal Chores
Aside from your general spring cleaning chores, there are plenty of other chores that need to be done in preparation for the warmer months. For instance, there are windows to clean, winter clothes to pack up, grills to scrub, and patios to clean. Instead of waiting another day to do them all though, why not do them alongside your spring cleaning chores to get them out of the way early. This way, you can truly focus on enjoying the coming of spring.
Tip #4: Keep Your Cleaning Products To A Minimum
If you take one good long look at your cleaning supplies, you might find that you actually don’t need every single one of them to keep your home clean and fresh. When you think of it, you only need a few basics like some good microfiber cloths and a good all-purpose cleaner to keep your home nice and tidy. You can even make your own DIY cleaning supplies from things you have in your pantry. Plus, having all those different cleaning supplies that you don’t always need will just add to the clutter. So, add that to your decluttering list and only purchase other specialty cleaning supplies as needed.
Tip #5: Get Everyone Involved
It sucks when someone you live with isn’t really doing their part in keeping the home nice, isn’t it? So, why not try and get everyone involved in your spring cleaning. Divide the work up with a roommate or a partner or assign chores to each member of the family who lives with you. Even kids can be given age-appropriate chores. Put some music on and make it as fun as you possibly can. This way, everyone does their share of the work, everyone feels included, and the work is done twice as fast.
Tip #6: Reevaluate and Make New Cleaning Habits
All these seasonal deep cleaning times are great moments to reevaluate all your cleaning habits. While you go through your entire apartment, you can check-in and see if all your past cleaning habits are still doing the trick or if there are improvements you can make. For instance, if you’ve been doing one deep clean per week or two, why not try spreading it out to a few minutes every couple of days or even 10 to 15 minutes each day. Think of your options, make a new habit list, and try out new things. Who knows? You might find your very own hack to make your cleaning life easier in your spring clean.
